Our founder, Ed, never envisioned being a personal trainer. While no stranger to athletics, he earned his black belt in Tae Kwon Do among other athletic accomplishments. His professional experience includes an MBA in Finance and various certifications in quality management earned as a technology sales professional and as a Fortune 500-trained manager. All that changed in 2008.
In June 2008 while on a family vacation, his family saw someone in a truck on a cell phone run him over as he crossed the street.  He ended up needing eleven (11) surgeries all over his body to corect the damage and being disabled for 7.5 years.  In 2013, his doctor told him to not expect to return to his previously active life.  He was 52 years old...60 lbs. overweight, in chronic pain and on all kinds of meds. Fearing what life would be like as he aged, he set out to prove the doctor wrong.

THE JOURNEY...BACK TO FITNESS, HEALTH AND WELLNESS

Ed went to the "gym" and tried to do things like he did as a dedicated athlete..."No Pain, No Gain".  It didn't work.  He was in too much pain from all the damage to his body.  Ever fearful, he and his wife, Melissa, worked together and discovered a PAIN-FREE way to exercise.  He studied how the body works, nutrtition and case studies on successful and non-successful people who overcame obstacles to their fitness.  This included people in wheelchairs, Return-to-Work cases of people on disability, Navy Seals, Active Agers in their 70's, 80's and older, and more.  Shortly after, the Do What Fits Fitness Protocol was born.  Not knowing whether he would be successful, Ed made a pact with G-d to help make the world a little bit brighter IF he could get a new outcome for himself and his family.

Today, Ed is 63 and in the best shape of his life!  Since 2015, he and Melissa have be teaching Do What Fits to people from 12-85 years of age with unparalleled results.  In 2019, they introduced Do What Fits to the Main Line at Main Line Total Fitness where people get their own custom program, based on science and ALL the components Ed used to regain his fitness and regain his vitality.  While the Main Line is known for its prominence, Ed & Melissa wanted to have a place people could go to and use fitness to change the trajectory for their life the way Ed did.

At Main Line Total Fitness, they offer the most cost-effective plans to do so.  Here, it's not a question of IF a person will see the results they want, it's a question of WHEN.  In short, people get the results they are looking for as fast as their budget can afford.  For those who need more than their budget can offer, Ed & Melissa honor the commitment they made to G-d to help irrespective of their ability to afford the Plan suggested in the Initial Fitness Assessment (IFA) all applicants receive.

IF going to a place where you will see the results you're looking for, that offers the highest integrity in a nurturing, private, upscale setting means anything to you, give Ed or Melissa a call.  You won't be disapointed.

Like many women, Melissa has struggled with eating and weight related issues over the years. This took a number of unexpected turns as she witnessed her husband’s ordeal, from start to finish. To help encourage his recovery efforts, she worked out many times by his side as she helped him research and formulate the dietary intake plan he needed to ultimately defy the medical outlook ahead of him at the time.  With a background in education, Melissa has an MS in Special Education and more than 20 years of experience helping people on the spectrum.  Melissa will use her education and personal nutrition experience to ensure the Club is integrated with positive messaging that helps women and all people overcome issues that can inhibit their fitness-related success.

trayvon jones

Training Specialist

As a veteran of the US Navy, Tray brings a unique set of experiences to fitness training.  While serving, he developed various injuries "trying to keep up with others".  Before he knew it, fitness and work activities became problematic due to pain. As a result, his fitness activities suffered so his work would not.  When he got out, he began to put on weight, which led him to pursue fitness education at the National Personal Training Institute (NPTI) on the GI Bill.

After graduating, he started using the Do What Fits System, which "...enabled me to run and lift weights better than I used to and without pain."  Today, Tray can be found helping Vets first responders and others use the Do What Fits System to keep themselves "functionally fit" for their demanding work schedules. Per Tray: "It’s not just a job for me but a mission to help those with injuries not only get in shape but stay in shape."
